The Encore GX is available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive both with three trim levels: Preferred, Select and Essence. Power is supplied by either a 137-hp 1.2-liter turbocharged engine or a 155-hp 1.3-liter turbocharged engine. The 1.3L is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

For 2021, the Buick Encore GX gets no major changes except for the addition of Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto as standard on all models.
