Two different powertrains are offered, a 2.0T and 3.3T. The G70 2.0T is a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that puts out 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The G70 3.3T gets a 3.3L turbocharged V6, making an impressive 365 horsepower and 376 lb-feet of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 8-speed transmission is Genesis' Shiftronic transmission with rev-matching to shift gears at the opportune time. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available on all trims, which works with dynamic torque vectoring to improve handling on all road conditions.

The entry level G70 2.0T comes nicely equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome exterior trim, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power front seats, remote keyless entry, dual-zone temperature control, HomeLink compatible garage door transmitter, leatherette seats, three USB ports, active noise cancellation, 6-speaker audio system and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 2.0T is available in rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.
The 3.0T adds a sport suspension, 19-inch wheels, leather seats, driver seat memory that includes the door mirrors and steering wheel, and rain sensing windshield wipers.
Safety features are plentiful on the G70, including both passive and active safety technology on all trim levels. Standard safety features include blind spot detection, forward collision mitigation, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and, on higher trim levels, a surround view camera.
