The 2016 Hyundai Accent is available in two trim levels: the SE sedan and hatchback, and the Sport hatchback. All Accents have a 1.6L 4-cylinder engine that makes 138 horsepower. The engine is mated to a standard 6-speed manual or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. MacPherson struts are used in front and a torsion beam suspension is used in the rear.
The SE 4-door sedan rides on 14-inch wheels and comes relatively well equipped with a 6-way manually adjustable seat, power windows, mirrors and locks, one-touch triple-flash turn signals, sliding sun visors, a driver's side blind spot mirror, center armrest with cup holders, seatback pockets, illuminated vanity mirrors, a sunglass holder, air conditioning, a trip computer and a 6-speaker CD and MP3 player. The SE hatchback also includes heated outside mirrors and a rear wiper.
The Sport adds 16-inch alloy wheels with performance tires, rear disc brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, fog lights and projector headlights with LED accents. The Sport also gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. The steering wheel comes complete with controls for the stereo and cruise control and features tilt/telescoping. Buyers wanting a sunroof will need to order the Sport trim in order to select the $900 option.
All 2016 trims come standard with four-wheel anti-lock brakes. Advanced front airbags, side impact airbags, side head and rear head airbags, tire pressure monitoring and seatbelt pretensioners are also standard.

For 2016, the Hyundai Accent receives a few updates, including an upgraded standard stereo system and a repackaging of trims; GS and GLS trims have been combined into an SE trim.
The Hyundai Accent is a subcompact available as either a sedan or a hatchback. Well-equipped in standard form, the Accent features an impressive 92.2 total cubic feet of passenger room, defying the myth of the small car's cramped cabin. Fuel economy is also impressive, averaging 28 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway, thanks in part to special low rolling resistance tires.
