The Kia K900 will initially only be available with one engine, a 5.0L V8. Kia plans to add a V6 to the lineup below the V8 but for now, the K900 is only available with the more upscale power plant. This is not necessarily a bad thing, because the 5.0L V8 engine is incredibly smooth and powerful, making a staggering 420 hp. Acceleration is likewise extremely strong, aided by a smooth shifting 8-speed automatic; the only transmission available on the K900.
Though the K900 is no sports car, it handles respectably, thanks to all-independent suspension and rear wheel drive. Kia has taken pains to ensure that the car is balanced and smooth in the corners, though drivers looking for sports car stiffness should look elsewhere.
Luxury is the name of the game in the K900 and nowhere is this more obvious than in the list of standard equipment. The V8 K900 comes equipped with Napa leather seating, a heated, leather wrapped steering wheel with power tilt and telescoping functions, tri-zone automatic climate control, 19-inch wheels, HID headlights, a 12-way power adjustable driver's seat, an 8-way power adjustable front passenger seat, a 900-watt 17-speaker stereo, front and rear facing cameras, a panoramic sunroof, heated and vented front seats, heated rear seats, a navigation system with a 9.2" display and power folding, heated outside mirrors. Optional items available on the K900 include power closing doors, a 12.3" TFT display, a surround view monitoring system, park assist, a 16-way power adjustable driver's seat and cooling for the rear seats.
Safety is paramount in the K900 and many of the standard features available work towards this aim. In addition to the front and rear camera system, the K900 also includes a blind spot detection system and a rear cross traffic alert system. Airbags include dual front, dual rear, front and rear side airbags as well as side curtain airbags. Electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, traction control and brake assist programs are all standard.

The Kia K900 is a brand-new vehicle for 2015. It is the first pure luxury car to be sold by Kia and represents the brand's attempt to push up-market. The K900 represents a breakthrough for a company that was not long ago defined entirely by their inexpensive economy cars.
The K900 competes with other full sized luxury cars from manufacturers like BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Infiniti and Audi. With plenty of space, a big V8 engine and rear wheel drive, the K900 follows the same basic format that luxury cars have been using for decades. However, the K900 brings several of Kia's classic traits to bear on the segment, including a 100,000 mile warranty, top notch reliability and clean, fresh styling. With a starting price of just under $60,000, Kia is serious about getting into the luxury car game.
